[OPEN] ===> Kalfour: Return

Return from where? Well you have been watching the sky for some time now, though why you would do such a thing for so long has somehow managed to slip your mind. That’s alright though. You have been enjoying yourself at least! The fires starting up at the very edge of the horizon are quite pretty against the evening sky.

However, they’ve started creeping closer now, as have the meteors and it’s finally starting to make you nervous. You have to make sure your moirail survives, and from what everyone’s been saying, that won’t happen until she’s playing the game. Which means you have to start soon too. You take another long look at the sky, and then slip down from the roof and in through your respiteblock window. It takes you a minute to find your husktop in the dark and as it turns on, you descend the stairs and settle on the step just outside your door. Hopefully everyone has started the game alright so far! You haven't been doing a very good job keeping track. Whoops!

You decide to click on the first in the series of FREE MACHINES, bringing it up on the screen. Damn, this thing is huge. You try the other two and they are both equally as unwieldy. You really wish you KNEW WHAT YOU WERE DOING HERE.

You get the feeling Kalfour must have left instructions for himself somewhere on his husktop, but the thought of trying to find anything on this violently colorful monstrosity makes you balk. Hopefully he returns soon. You are not sure how much longer you can stumble blindly through this!

Well then. That was not ACCORDING TO PLAN. You suppose it has been long enough, and you are, after all, no longer the most qualified person for this job. It was fun while it lasted anyway.

You will attempt to stay until he's gotten onto the surface at least!

Unfortunately you do not reply. This is because you are currently packing your husktop into a blanket and adding a few other essentials: pillows, rocks, a jar of sand... The important stuff.

With that accomplished comes the next difficult goal though: GETTING OUTSIDE.

You are not looking forward to this.

You have faith that Merzet can make it, though you do hope he hurries since things are getting blurry along the edges of your vision. You know it is not your place, at this point in time, to stay when Kalfour has settled himself enough to reenter the world, and in fact, just talking to Merzet and Kaprao for so long, you've probably overstepped some of your usual bounds...

But! You want to be able to congratulate this boy for facing his fears, even a little bit, so you try to pull things back into focus once again, anxiously watching the screen for him.

This unfortunately takes some time, as while the trip up the stairs was easy enough there is still the actual issue of going outside. This is a thing you are NOT THAT GREAT AT. Life as a paranoid recluse has left you...well, paranoid and reclusive.

Furthermore it's dark out now which means other Trolls are awake. Your absolute least favourite time to venture outside despite the fact that there is no one living around you for miles. Dozens of them.

This still poses a great hurdle for you though, and at the first sight of the outdoors you immediately find yourself flattening against the rock surface. Good rock. Safe.

Ah well... You tried! But eventually even Savane musters up the care to tell you it's time to back off. So you leave the message for him to find once he gets to the surface instead.

And then you slip away.

...you wake up even more confused then usual. Everything in your pan feels like cotton and the image on your husktop does not help.

It takes you a long moment before you recognize the SCRIB UI that Nuvola had talked about in her instructions... Speaking of which, you click away to open those immediately, realizing that one of your worser daymares has come true and you started the game in one of your black outs. Now the CRUXTRUDER is in absolutely the wrong place and Merzet...

...you have no idea what Merzet is doing actually.

You try to ignore the extra words in the wrong quirk in your pester window as you type.

Okay... that's not really working then is it. So you abandon the futile pinging, and instead drag your cursor over and... click on the little cowering jade. This will go well. You can already tell.

An action which is just a bit frightening because, well...a cursor came out of nowhere and clicked on you. Right away you drop everything in alarm and whip around so your back is pressed to the rock's hard surface instead.

...you could probably due to be a little more sorry then you actually are. Oh well... you click on the dropped husktop and try to offer it to him as delicately as you can at least. Come on, Merzet, you're his only hope for finding out how far you got while he was gone!!

~~second base~~ Not far at all really, judging by how you flatten yourself further against the wall when you husktop is held out to you. Why must things always be so SHOCKING????

At least you know what you're doing so with a little bit of fussing you manage to force the camera underground so you can look around Merzet's hive while he's... doing... whatever it is he's doing right now.

SIGHS.

Your hive really isn't all that impressive. It's more like an ant colony than an actual building because...it's made of dirt and has little chambers in it. Which took a surprising amount of convincing when you received your drones since they were so determined to build up and you were just nooot into that.

Underground is good. Underground is safe.

Speaking of safe the outside is so not that--you would like very much to go back inside now, and hastily pull your husktop over with one foot.
