[OPEN] DERSE MINGLE

DERSE, also known as the Kingdom of Darkness is one of the two kingdoms in the INCIPISPHERE, located beyond The Veil of asteroids that surround the Medium. DERSE wages an unending war against the Light Kingdom, PROSPIT, striving for the destruction of SKAIA.

Those who dream on DERSE are viewed generally more as "team mascots"; although the DERSITE residents consider the DREAMERS to be their allies, THE ULTIMATE GOAL will eventually put the DREAMERS at odds with the residents of DERSE, who covet SKAIA'S destruction.

It is time for the DREAMERS to begin awakening.

They're royalty. Nobunny can have blood higher than tyrian, only Heiresses can be tyrian. [ and now that she thinks about it, nobody she knows even has a blood color that high. ]

[chroniker]

Huh. There aren't any around here, are they? It'd be interesting to find out, how one gets different colored blood in the first place. The genetics must be really interesting...

[starstorm]

Nope nope, Niknik doesn't know anybunny with blood that high. She doesn't know much about, um, genetics either. [ she looks kind of embarrassed. ] All she knows is this is how trolls are.

Humans only have one blood color, though? Wow, that must make everything so much easier!

[chroniker]

Hmmm. Well, I guess I'll just ask around, then! You have told me quite a bit, so I thank you kindly for that.

Yes, we do! Always red, unless you're really very very sick and have one of the one in a million disorders nobody ever hears about. We're judged by how much money one has, mostly.

[starstorm]

Ohhhhhh... [ she doesn't really understand, but she's fascinated anyway. WOW humans are so cool!! ] Wowwww, that's so weird! Humans are so strange and neat!

[chroniker]

Not more strange and neat than you, I'd reckon!

So...what can you tell me about this place, Nikkal? I mean, I know it's called Derse and all, but why is everything so purple?

[starstorm]

Derse is the kingdom of darkness. Is Chercher playing the game? His sprite talked about kingdoms of light and darkness that are in a battle. The other one is Prospit and everybunny goes to one of them when they fall asleep!

[chroniker]

Yes, I am playing the game, and, well...me and my sprite...

[He drifts of sort of awkwardly, because how do you explain that your sprite is a mix between your dad and a bird skeleton HE STILL HASN'T GOTTEN OVER THAT, REALLY.]

That makes sense, though! I think he did mention something to that effect...though, why did it put me and you in this darkness kingdom? We don't seem like dark people at all...

[starstorm]

Dunno. Niknik doesn't think it means we're dark people though! Maybe the game just tried to split up everybunny's dreamselves evenly or something. [ she shrugs. that's a question she'd asked herself before too, but gradually she came to accept it for what it is and didn't bother thinking about the mechanics. ]

[chroniker]

Maybe...this game does work on some strange mechanics.

So, erm. What is your planet like? Where you come from, I mean.

[starstorm]

Oooohh, um! Niknik's planet is called Alternia! It's a neat place. All of the trolls live there, but Niknik never saw that many other ones 'cause she lives in the middle of nowhere.

[chroniker]

Alternia? A pretty name! And, oh dear, the middle of nowhere...you must have been very lonely out there, Niknik!

I live on a place called Earth, and while I don't live in the middle of nowhere, exactly, it doesn't have as much people as, say, some big cities do. But I still like it- it's very pretty!

[starstorm]

Not really. Niknik had her lusus with her, and the stars too! The stars are really good company. [ she giggles. hearing her own nickname from someone else amuses her, heehee. ]

Earth sounds really neat. Niknik thinks she's heard a little about it from other people. Everybunny there uses words like "parent", right?

[chroniker]

Lusus? I think you mentioned something like that...and the stars are very nice company, yes!

Yes, they do! We have parents or close relatives that take care of us until we become old enough to "leave the nest" as they say. What about you? Have any brothers? Sisters?

[starstorm]

Oh, so a parent is like a lusus! Okay! [ she gets it for a moment! but she is tilting her head now, obviously confused. ] What are brothers and sisters? Niknik never heard those words before.

[chroniker]

Yes, I believe so! And a brother and a sister is just somebody who was born from the same parent as you were!

Though I don't have any brothers or sisters myself. I'm just wondering if you did.

[starstorm]

Ooooohh, okay! Nope, Niknik doesn't have any of those. She got picked by her lusus when she was just a little bitty grub, and her lusus didn't pick anybunny else.

[chroniker]

Grub? Oh, like an insect? Huh, wouldn't have put you in the same category as a butterfly, but alright, then.

And they pick you? Kind of like adoption, I get it! I was adopted by my dad too. We're not genetically related.

[starstorm]

[ she tilts her head at him. not entirely sure what he means by that, but-- ] Oh, Chercher means like a flutterbeast? Hehe, kinds! The Mother Grub is a big ol' flutterbeast. The Mother Grub gives birth to all of the trolls and then the lus..uses... lusii? They all come and pick out a grub!

Woooww, Chercher got picked by his lusu-- um, parent too? That's really neat!

[chroniker]

Oh, wow, so she's like a big giant butterfly? How cool! We don't have anything like that...we just produce children among couples, heh.

Yeah, I did! He chose me out of all the other kids, and honestly, I'm really grateful for that. I love him a lot.

[ --OH. WAIT!!! ] But then she came back as Niknik's sprite! Hehehe.

Oh no! How horrible! But, erm...that's good! That she's a sprite now.

[A nervous sort of laugh.]

My dad came back as a sprite too, actually...he died in the meteor storm, but I resurrected him. Kind of.

[starstorm]

[ she gives him a sympathetic look. ] That's what happened to Niknik's lusus too.

But at least we could bring them back thought, right! This game's gonna save everybunny, Niknik just knows it!
