[OPEN] DERSE MINGLE

You are now on DERSE.
If you've awakened in this kingdom, your DREAM SELF is free to leave their TOWER and explore the city below. There may be a few things out of the ordinary, however; some of the resident DERSITES appear to be on edge...
If you look closely, you will find a series of golden posters plastered up on the walls of the kingdom: these posters are headlined with LIES AND SLANDER, though that might only be the case if you actually like the people pictured on them. You might see one of your TEAMMATES or even just a FRIEND, beneath the headline...
HEROES FAIL TO AWAKEN! ROGUE AND THIEF CONTINUE TO BE AT LARGE!
THE FALL OF PROSPIT'S HEROES REVERSED! A NEW ARMY HAS RISEN FROM THE ASHES!
THE PRINCE IS DEAD? THE PRINCE IS ALIVE? HAS TIME GONE CRAZY?
The headlines are uncountable - you're willing to bet that there is one for every player in your session. You wouldn't be surprised if there were one about you on your opposing moon!
Perhaps you'd better locate one of your teammates, or ask the DERSITES what's happening. This has to be a setup by the BLACK QUEEN.

[ He gives a little nod that it could be a lot worse, but then he chuckles as she comments on the blowing up the moon, and the brightness of Prospit. ]
Precisely. But for now, it's just us here on Derse. Up t'you if you want to lend a hand, get out and do stuff. It'd just make things easier, really, which'd be great. There's always stuff to do. [ He pauses briefly, before... ] ...like burning these posters.
no subject
[ other eyebrow raise, plus grin ] Like burning shit, I could get behind that. [ also she kind of wants to get another look at those posters. she is actually starting to think that the real fun thing to do would to be sneaky and find some shit out ]
no subject
Then, shall we? It sounds like that's first up for our things to do. [ He pauses. ] Oh, right. Here.
[ Rummaging in a pocket, he pulls forth a little badge with a lanyard to wear around the neck. It bears the Derse symbol and definitely has a sense of AUTHORITY to go with it. ]
Flash it when needed and you can go anywhere. [ ...a pause. ] Just avoid Jack unless I'm around, he's fond of stabs.
[ And, already, he starts making his way down the stairs of Mandya's tower. Down to the bottom they go. It's not far to the incinerator, after all. They've got a lot of posters to burn. ]
no subject
Stabs? [ a pause. sudden doubt of her choices. whatever she's in too far deep now, gotta make it work ] What does this Jack dude look like and how do I avoid the stabs, that doesn't sound like anything I wanna do.
[ oh shit, there he goes. Mandya floats out of her tower after him, thinking that this whole flying thing is pretty cool actually ]
no subject
[ ...and oh my god she's floating. He forgot the heroes could do that. After he gets back to the street, he eyes her idly for a moment before commenting: ] That's useful, y'know. You stand out, but it's useful. This way.
[ And he's leading the way to an incinerator building nearby. Once there, he has to set the posters down. ] ...and we have to burn these one at a time, or it doesn't work. What a pain.
no subject
[ what oh the floating thing. she kinda rolls over midair and looks down at herself. ] What, the rest of you guys can't do this? Kinda thought it was a purple moon thing, but I guess it's cool that only I can do it. Sure beats walking at least.
[ dang a whole building just to burn shit. these guys got it all figured out, she would just occasionally burn her trash outside her hive ] One at a time, really? Who the fuck made that design choice? I bet they were real dumb.
no subject
[ To her comment/question, he shakes his head. ] No, we can't. Enjoy being a special snowflake, miss hero.
[ And then he's tossing in one poster at a time into the fire. ] Like I said. I'm surrounded by quite a few individuals. Most of them aren't as good at their jobs as you'd think. A pain, really. Want a few?
[ He offers a handful of the posters out, in case Mandya wants to de-stress by burning them. ]
no subject
Man, look at all these fuckers. Those yellow outfits are just as gross looking as I figured they'd be.
no subject
[ Bwoosh, there goes another poster. ]
After this, we've gotta head to the palace. Jack should be busy, so I doubt we'll run into anyone. Perfect chance to relax, I hope. [ A pause. ] ...We could always use the Cubicle of Vigilance to pass the time.
no subject
[ blink. palace, huh. she is unsure about coming into contact with actual royalty, kinda makes her nervous. though, oh, he said a thing that sounds interesting but she doesn't know what it is, question time is now ] Cubicle of Vigilance? What's that? Sounds cubelike.
no subject
[ And he shakes his head at her in response. ] Eh, it's only three quarters of a cube, so it's not quite cubelike. Only mostly cubelike. But it's how we watch all of Derse. Maybe we'll catch the jerk responsible by watching.
no subject
[ eyebrow raise. whoa this dude can spy on the whole moon that's cool. she's interested yes indeed ] That sounds like a good idea, I'd be down for some spying from behind a screen.
no subject
[ He gives her a nod as he deposits the last of his posters into the incinerator. ] Toss in the last few of yours and that's right where we can go, then. The chairs are comfortable there, too, which is a bonus. Always nice to be comfortable, you know.
no subject
Comfortable chairs, you say? [ she just crumples up the last couple of posters she has and tosses them in. IT COUNTS AS A SINGLE ITEM WHY NOT ] You don't gotta tell me twice, I am now all about this cubey place.
no subject
[ He shuts the incinerator after she tosses the last few in, a little chuckle following. That certainly worked as one item, he agreed. ] Alright, let's be on our way, shall we?
[ And pchooooo off they go to the cubey place, walkin' the streets to go that way! ]
no subject
Yeah okay let's do this thing. [ and ok he can walk but she is gonna float because man this is easy YAY FOR NO EFFORT ]
no subject
Reminds me, I never got your name. [ At least the palace isn't that far away, but they're going to sneak in through this convenient side-door and up a few sets of stairs to get right where they're going. Not like he hasn't walked this exact route a million times before, though. ]
no subject
Oh, I'm Mandya. Last name is Yamini, but who really cares about that, aside from fuckers who think they're being cool by calling you by your last name. [ shruuuuuuuug, also snap this sure does seem to be a mildly hidden passageway into a castle???? neat and perhaps useful in the future, she will try and remember this ]
no subject
[ Sure enough, here they are. Surrounded on three sides by the fenestrated walls. On their screens are images of all of Derse, of everything that's going on. ]
[ And there are two comfortable chairs sitting in front of them; one that is quickly occupied by DD, and an open one. ] And now we 'work'.
no subject
[ she plops down into the other chair, still staring at the walls ] Except the tv's are showing stuff that's actually happening with other people oh my god I didn't realize how much I wanted exactly this until right now. [ she is. so happy. ]
no subject
Four windows per window, three windows, twelve possible perspectives to watch at once. Plus they cycle through, so we can see anything. We can even... [ He waves a hand and two of the screens show Jack stumbling along, kicking over trash cans... good lord he looks PISSED. ]
...and wait for it. [ Suddenly he has a remote, and he's aiming it... and at the push of a button, a comically large boxing glove bursts out of the wall, punches Jack out of a window, and sends him toppling to the ground again. ] ... ... ... Heh.
no subject
[ also she noted the spade on that guy's shirt, that must be jack noir. man she is just learning all sorts of things from this particular nap ]
no subject
Yep, you can. Though, just here on Derse. Messin' with everybody all the time. And that's our job. [ Thumbs up. ] ... though I might need to go feign ignorance to him so he doesn't get suspicious.
no subject
no subject
[ But he looks at the screen, noting that Jack seems particularly murderous suddenly. ] ... Hm. You've got the badge, so I need to step out. Gotta pacify Jack before he hurts or breaks anything. You'll be fine here. No one's due in here aside from me for the next few hours, and I'll be back before then.
